Apple unveiled its most advanced notebook on 11th of this month at WWDC in San Francisco. This notebook, as Apple claims is one of their best productions ever. Lets find out whether these claims are justified.
The new Mac’s are released as 13 inch and 15 inch versions and are also the lightest on planet earth weighing a little under 4.5 lbs (4.46 to be exact, the). The most eye-catching feature, is the obvious inclusion of the very revered Retina Display. At 2880X1800 pixels (5.1 million to be accurate), the screen sports more number of pixels than any display device imaginable.
The 15.4 inch version of the notebook has a 220 ppi which is very high for any laptop presently available in the market.
The MacBook Pro is just .71 inch thick making it a significant 25% thinner than the previous Mac. To take advantage of this amazing display, Apple has updated all the native apps so that they appear right-sized.
SPECS:
Not only have Apple fitted the Mac with an amazing display, they also have made this laptop a power house. It comes with the latest offering from Intel-(the 3rd generation core processors or better known as the Ivy Bridge series). Packed with a quad-core core i7 processor, a very capable NVIDIA GT-650M GPU and hosting an all flash storage, this baby is indeed worth a lot. The new Mac comes with 2 processor ratings one with 2.3 GHz and another with a 2.6GHz clock speed which with turbo-boost can achieve a further 1 GHz gain.
The all flash storage as we all know has huge impact on performance. Booting time just takes seconds and data-transfer feels like a dream come true. Apple offers a 256 GB storage on the $2200 version while a 512 GB on the $2800 which can be customized to 768 GB for an additional payment of $200. RAM offering is also a worthwhile 8GB which has a rating of 1600 MHz. One could also go with a 16 GB RAM customized version only if you really feel that you can push the machine to its limits.
Reportedly there was quite a debate within Apple as to choose from AMD’s latest GPU or to go with theNVIDIA’s new technology which claims on efficient power management, and as time took its own course we ended up having a very capable and energy efficient (plus a pretty costly) GPU, the GT 650 M comes with a 1GB card and has enough cores to crunch away any necessary calculations required.

The MacBook Pro has been re-designed completely and it brings in a lot of features which can only be felt. One of them is the very intelligently crafted cooling fans which reduce a lot of noise. Another is the reinforced aluminium which is very strong and can undergo a lot of torsional strain.
All in all there’s no doubt that Apple has yet again pulled another master-piece of a design and finally gave the much in-vibe retina-display to the Mac. Well coming to the question, Is it worth $2199 ??Worth or not is purely the buyer’s decision to make. However what we have in our hands is a wonderful device with unparalleled precision and unmatched engineering greatness. $2199 is surely not gonna come in way of any one who can afford this and considers him/herself as a purist.
