Last week Google, the search giant, acquired Motorola Mobility . This clearly indicates the company’s motive to manufacture its own smartphones. But you may be shocked to know that another software giant is going to try their hands on smartphones sector. Well, the company is none other than the top social network Facebook.
Several employees at Facebook believe that the company may release its own smartphone by next year. According to latest reports Facebook has already hired some engineers who have already worked with Apple software and devices like iPhones and iPads. When asked Facebook didn’t give a straight forward answer. Rather they said that Facebook is working across the entire mobile industry, operators, hardware manufacturers, OS providers, and application developers.

Facebook’s motive is clear. Being a public company it must find sources for more revenue and mobile phone sector is a vast and promising market for growth and development.
According to Times Of India one of the Facebook employees told, Mr. Zuckerberg fears that Facebook will remain as a mere app on other mobile platforms if it does not get into smartphone sector. If the company manufactures mobile phones it will clearly become Facebook Vs Google in mobile market as Google encourages the use of Android in smartphones.
